The season runs from March through July. These teams are self-funded. Tryouts are held in early March.
Select Baseball: Green Hornets offer specific opportunities for those kids wishing to play baseball at a high level. Those opportunities exist at each of the 11-, 12-, 13-, and 14-year-olds levels. The number of games, depending on the wishes of the coaches, could vary, and may be 40-70 games during the spring and summer. Travel throughout the area and state may also occur, depending on the leagues, tournaments, etc. It is important to understand these opportunities at these levels may not always involve equal playing time, batting, etc., as well as variance on the number of kids on each team; all determined by the highly capable selected coaches. Tryouts are listed below. Specific questions can also be directed to the Select Coordinator, Dave Ferris, 410-987-2320, dbferris32@comcast.net
Baseball tryouts for each of the respective Select Teams (11-, 12-, 13-, and 14-year-old) will be held in August & September 2009 for the 2010 baseball season. The tryouts (approximately 2-4, depending on the wishes of the Coaches), will occur between August 1 - September 30, all at Kinder Park. Formal registration will again occur in early 2010, once GSPAA Spring Registration begins; for those that make the teams in the August/September tryouts. If interested in trying out for one of these Select Teams (GSPAA Website has a description of what is involved with Select Baseball), please send an email (preferably) or call the respective Coaches/POCs below. Each of the tryout schedules are also listed. If you cannot make one of the scheduled tryout dates, due to another conflict, vacation, etc., please contact the Coach to work out other arrangements. Please also contact the respective Coach, if any scheduled tryout is postponed due to rain.
